First race on the new bike

In a word: Fast. It feels really fast.

The IsoSpeed is also really great. There is a dip in the road that sometimes feels like it’s going to throw me off the bike. I’ve hit it several times on a road bike and always had a feeling of “oof” as I got squashed into the seat. With the Madone it damped the compression enough that it was more of an impression than an “oof”. It smooths the road out nicely.

I only shifted the wrong way once in the race. Other than that, the Campagnolo gear was perfect (and clearly it is not Campagnolo’s fault that I forgot). The shifting is delightful. The brakes are super-light (one finger is enough for any braking situation) with very good modulation.

The whole bike is as sleek as the headtube looks in this photo.

So far, so fantastic.
